Russia and China created the extreme right with the money from oil, gas and industries. Their geopolitical aim is to stop the unification and cooperation of the world. The worst thing that can happen to world is the re-election of Trump.
The rise of the extreme right is one of the most significant global trends in the world after the 2009 financial crisis. Along with (extreme right-wing and nationalist) Russia, the extreme right is the biggest threat to the liberal, united and democratic world at the moment. The rise of the extreme right is strongly linked to Russia’s and China’s aspirations for power. For decades, one of the biggest threats to world peace, freedom and democracy was the threat to the rest of the world posed by the communist bloc led by the Soviet Union. Even though today the extreme right-wing stupidly calls leftists, greens and liberals communists, communism is largely a lost ideology. US President George Bush’s 1991 speech on the ”new world order” meant the end of an era: the liberal West had won. The Berlin Wall had fallen and the Soviet Union and Eastern European communism had collapsed. The angry bear of the East had quieted down, but only for a while, as the last few years have shown. Now, though, communism has been replaced by nationalism, extreme rightism as a bear ideology. China, another great power of communism, has remained officially communist, although it is now more of a nationalist dictatorship. Their petulant little brother, North Korea, is a big threat to Japan and South Korea, who represent the free West in Asia. The problem is especially the artillery of the dictatorship led by Kim Jong Un, which threatens the South Korean megacity of 25 million inhabitants , Seoul.
At its height, communism led by the Soviet Union and China ruled almost half of the globe. Half of Europe was under the yoke of communism. Likewise from Africa. Numerous dictatorships fraternized with the Soviet Union. Communism was a serious threat to the free and democratic world from the 40s onward for the next 50 years. The threat was at its greatest in the 80s. Communism and fascism compete together with the Catholic Church for the title of the bloodiest ideology in history. The collapse of communism was something very unexpected, sudden and strange. It tells about how freedom eventually bursts into flames once its flame has ignited. The power of dictators is not eternal, but sooner or later they fall under the pressure caused by the people. The power of dictators is often like a house of cards that collapses when certain key cards fall. There are many chains of events similar to the collapse of NL in history, for example the French Revolution of 1789, the fall of apartheid in South Africa in the early 90s, or the Arab Spring of 2011.
Francis Fukuyama proposed that we had now arrived at the ”end of history” where capitalism and liberal democracy had won. However, the opposite happened, we were nowhere near the end of history. The Soviet Union weakened and became Russia. In the 90s, Russia was at the level of a poor developing country. However, the Russian bear recovered from its wounds under Putin. The reason was Russia’s prosperity with its oil and natural gas tariffs . Russia’s aggression began to be seen especially around the time of the Georgian war in 2008. At that time, Georgia, which was approaching the West, was attacked by Russia during the Beijing Olympics. Already in 2004, events began in Ukraine that eventually led to Putin’s Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine in 2022. In Ukraine, especially in Maidan Square, there was a demonstration against the corrupt pro-Russian government, this culminated in the Orange Revolution. There was a strong shift of Ukraine towards the west. With the help of the oligarchs , Putin, who remains in power, was already at that time trying to get Ukraine back as part of Russia, at least Crimea and Donbass .
In Putin’s Russia, the goal has been to restore Russia’s global power. This was made possible by the weakness of many Western politicians and their desire to please Russia and Putin. Many actually fraternized with Putin. Putin came to power in 2000 and since then, with the help of oligarchs and oil and gas revenues, he has ruled Russia with an iron grip as a dictator. There are no institutions like freedom of speech, opinion, freedom of the press, etc. characteristic of democracy. Putin is trying to strengthen Russia’s power in different parts of the world, e.g. deep in Africa and Central Asia. Russia even has military bases in Syria. Russia can be considered the biggest colonialist in the modern world, which oppresses numerous peoples in its own territory and beyond. Everything is made possible by oil and natural gas. The biggest mistake Putin made was the invasion of Ukraine.
The war in Ukraine actually started in 2014, when the pro-Russian president of Ukraine Yanukovych lost his power in a popular uprising. As a result, Putin occupied the Crimean peninsula, which belonged to Ukraine. Putin also sent his troops to support pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine in the Donetsk region. Putin’s atrocities at that time include e.g. the shooting down of a Malaysian airliner that killed 298 people. Putin launched a full-scale attack against Ukraine, which is integrating with the West. Putin is the UN Human Rights Court wanted war criminal. During the war in Ukraine, Russia has on several occasions ruthlessly and barbarically tortured, bombed and killed numerous Ukrainian civilians, including hundreds of children, and committed genocide, which the UN is investigating.
Putin has said that he wants to restore the old borders (he means the borders of 1914), which includes e.g. Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, Russia has never been a democracy and its authoritarian and violent form of government dates back to the tsars and Mongol rule. One factor contributing to Putin’s war is the West’s green transition away from Russian oil and gas. Europe (EU) is aiming for carbon neutrality in the 2030s and a gradual transition to completely clean renewable energy, e.g. to wind and solar power. This means that the money taps for Putin and the oligarchs will be turned off when their oil and gas will no longer sell. By selling fossil energy, Putin finances the war in Ukraine and if he can’t sell it anymore, he will lose the war. For a long time, Putin has had a war against all environmental protection: he has presented himself as a hunting, meat-eating macho man (although he is short and fat) and e.g. In 2013, the activists who protested on the Russian oil rig of Greenpeace were convicted of ”piracy”. In Russia, Greenpeace and many other environmental organizations have long been banned as ”terrorist organizations” and ”foreign agents”. It is forbidden to serve vegetarian food in Russian schools.
The fate of Ukraine determines the entire future world order and the fate of the entire world. Will the world order based on rules, cooperation, democracy and freedom or totalitarianism win. Russia represents a multipolar world order, where cooperation and liberal democracy are not sought, but in her world, ”tough and strong” men very often rule in an authoritarian and totalitarian manner. In Putin’s world, there are several different pools from which the world is run, in practice this means that dictators and tyrants all over the world are allowed to do whatever they want. Russia is trying to use the cooperation of the BRICS countries to drive multipolarity. The most tragic thing in Putin’s words is that he claims that Russia is fighting for Christian values against the evil and decadent, immoral West. The Russian Orthodox Church claims to be fighting the antichrist himself. In Russia, Europe is called ” Gayroopa ”, where ” homosation ” prevails. Absolutely crazy talk. Putin is against Pride , human rights, equality, feminism, the rule of law, Jews, multiculturalism and environmental protection and the green idea, that is, he is against everything good. He is against everything that Hitler and the Nazis were against. Putin’s Russia has completely turned into a dystopia like Nazi Germany . Like the Nazis, Putin believes in conspiracies and incites them in the Russian media. Putin has lost his mind and his paranoia is fueling the war. Blind and insane, psychotic religiosity has killed hundreds of millions of people throughout history. There was similar madness when the popes in the Middle Ages declared coffee forbidden as ”the drink of the devil” and when they forbade keeping cats as pets as witchcraft. As a result of the latter, rats became common and the plague killed tens of millions in Europe. How absurd it is that Putin claims there are ”Nazis” in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Zelenskyi is a Jew who has been a voice actor in Hollywood films including Angry Birds animation. There are no Nazis in Ukraine any more than anywhere else. Ukraine is not extreme right-wing, on the contrary, it has strongly converged with the liberal West and applied to become a member of the liberal and egalitarian European Union. The crazy thing is that the Russian people largely believe the madness and propaganda fed to them by the media, such as that Finland and Sweden want to attack Russia or that half of the people in Europe are gay. The height of absurdity. The Russian propaganda machine is massive and employs millions of people. You can’t trust any news in Russia, almost everything is a lie. When a person is forced to live in such a bubble, he can be made to believe all kinds of nonsense.
Let’s go back to the rise of the extreme right outside of Russia. We live in crazy times: an incredible TV clown became the president of Argentina for science and climate change. In the USA, an angry casino millionaire and a playboy convicted of rape and molestation are running for president. There are members of the US Congress who claim that ”Jews are starting forest fires with space lasers”. Humanity is largely afflicted by mass psychosis, which is fed through the media and the Internet, especially social media. Behind everything is big money and the pursuit of power by small-minded, greedy and angry men like Trump . Social media is a very good thing when used by normal and smart people, but in the hands of fools it becomes dangerous. People’s general education and critical thinking as well as media literacy have weakened, because of this people believe even crazier things even more easily. According to research, even 10% of people in Brazil believe in a flat earth. It is completely easy to prove the flat earth scientifically wrong, so it is not even a complicated or complex thing. Yet so many people believe in the completely crazy flat earth theory. For example, in the 50s, such crazy theories would not have gone through at all, but those presenting such would have been directed to a psychiatrist’s evaluation. The reason is that people at that time were on average smarter than today, they had a higher level of general education and they believed and trusted science. The polarization of today’s world can also be seen in learning outcomes. A large part of people are smarter and smarter than ever, but on the other hand, there is an even bigger group of people who have fallen out of civilization, who have fallen off the sled, so to speak. This ignorant bunch, who can’t weigh things up and don’t even know the basics of the world, are easily manipulated by propaganda and easily made to admire authoritarian and insane leaders like Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. The troll armies of these enemies of humanity in huge halls with millions of computers send billions of fake news and sometimes any propaganda to weaken the West and its inhabitants. There are even more computer-generated bots that engage in this kind of dirty superpower game. Bots appear on the Internet, for example in social media, as real people and accuse people of disinformation . There has been talk of a ”time after the truth”. However, in the end it is easy to show which information is true and which is fake news. It is also possible to find out from the code whether something untrue has been added to images, videos and audio files. Everything leaves a mark. In fact, digital makes it even easier to spot a fake . The problem is that a large number of ignorant people do not understand these things, e.g. information technology, which can easily prove fakeness .
The rise of the extreme right is therefore largely based on a distorted worldview and people’s stupidity and ignorance. This is what Russia, Trump and China etc. take advantage of by manipulating people. Where, then, did the rise of the extreme right begin: the 2009 economic crisis plunged many into emptiness and social incompetence. Neutrality led to separateness, and separateness led to hatred. After all, the ingredients of the extreme right had been created in the 1930s and an updated version of these old ingredients was created, which is a mixture of a distorted world view, psychosis, paranoia and hatred towards certain groups of people. According to Hannah Arendt , the extreme right and totalitarianism always arise from differences and incompetence, which lead to suspicion and hatred. The reason for incompetence is often especially a lack of education and knowledge, as well as a poor economic and social position, marginalization. Bad actors prey on weakness and exploit it. This is the reason why Hitler came to power and sent an entire nation into psychosis. Russia and China and Trump and other crazy enemies of humanity saw their opportunity and started a massive disinformation campaign , which was aimed especially at European and American citizens. The tool can be Tiktok (which is owned by parties close to the Chinese government), Facebook, YouTube or Twitter. The fact that Twitter is now owned by a very unstable, delusional and highly neurotypical multi-billionaire doesn’t make matters any easier. Another very significant means in Russia and China has been the direct financing and other political support of the extreme right in Europe and the United States. Billions of murky money flows into democracies from authoritarian countries in an effort to influence politics and weaken the unity of the West. In sabotaging the politics of the West, authoritarian countries use e.g. organizations, companies, cryptocurrencies and contacts living in the target countries , etc. For example, the sources of funding for the German neo-Nazi far-right party AfD are shrouded in darkness and the traces lead to the east. Austrian right-wing politicians were exposed in Cyprus when oligarchs bribed them. In Finland, the Basic Finns have received enormous support from Russia. Basic Finns even organized friendship trips to Russia and some of them opposed Finland’s vital NATO membership. Trump’s rise to power and Brexit happened with the support of Russia. Russia and China benefit from the extreme right, because with the extreme right, the unity of Europe, the EU and the transatlantic relations between the USA and Europe, including NATO, weaken. When European citizens are suspicious, angry and opposed to the prevailing liberal democracy, this is the ideal situation for a malicious Russia. Far-right activists don’t even realize that they are pawns in the big powers’ ruthless game and power aspirations. It’s tragic that these right-wing populists who don’t know history don’t understand that the same Russia and China that they oppose, as much as they say they oppose communism and defend democracy, actually created them and their populist parties.
In terms of world peace , the wildest wild card is Donald Trump . What will happen if Trump comes back to power? If this archetype of selfishness and greed comes to power in the 2024 US presidential election, there is even a danger of World War III. Trump is Putin’s agent and friend. He would stop supporting Ukraine (Ukraine is a buffer protecting all of Europe, Slava Ukraine ) and would possibly try to scrap NATO. NATO has maintained peace in the Northern Hemisphere for almost 80 years. So does the EU. Trump’s selfish America first policy is in no way even in America’s interest, but it endangers the position of the USA as a great power, a military and geopolitical power, as well as its diplomatic, alliance and trade relations. It is absurd that there is a large group of right-wing Christians in America who support Trump , even though Trump is anything but a Christian. Jesus did not teach Christians to be greedy racists and support greedy, racist, anti-environmental politicians . Jesus taught ”A tree is known by its fruit. A good tree produces good fruit and a bad tree produces bad fruit.” Greedy and power-hungry, like Trump , does not bring good but only evil. The Bible teaches to ”cultivate and protect”, not to destroy nature and withdraw from climate agreements. The Bible teaches to strive for unity and connection.
Even without Trump, there is a big threat of World War III: China is chasing Taiwan and North Korea is chasing South Korea. If a military conflict and crisis breaks out in Asia, US resources will be divided on two fronts. This enables Putin to attack the EU and NATO. Sure, the USA and NATO are much more powerful than Russia militarily: in terms of resources, know-how , weapon technology, training and experience, but Putin is a desperate and crazy, unpredictable despot. Putin may criticize NATO’s unity and responsiveness against, for example, Finland, Estonia, Latvoa or Lithuania. If he starts such a war, it is certain that he will lose it. Russia is not a challenger to NATO. However, he can cause a lot of destruction, death and suffering. In Ukraine, Russia has done very poorly militarily: thousands of destroyed tanks and 350,000 dead Russian soldiers compared to 30,000 in Ukraine. Russian tanks have run out so that they have been taken into use from museums and bought from North Korea. However, Russia is rapidly preparing for war and preparing a new arsenal of weapons as fast as Saruman’s Iron Yard. This is made possible by Russia’s oil and gas reserves. Now that Europe hardly buys Russian oil and gas, Russia has been looking for new market areas in Asia and Africa.
Russia is like a beast from ancient times, fighting tooth and nail for the past world. A world that was angrier, more disunited, more undemocratic and devoid of freedom, cooperation and equality. At worst, that Russian battle will lead to the collapse and disintegration of all of Russia. Will Putin sacrifice the entire Russian people in his madness. The time of tsars and tyrants is over. In history, we move forward, not backward.
