”King” Donald Trump

The official X account of the White House published a picture of President Donald Trump as the King of America. This is very strange and mocking of democracy and the Constitution, which is sacred to Americans. America was born in opposition to the king and tyranny. The USA fought its war of independence from 1775 to 1783 (Declaration of Independence 1776) against the tyrannical king of England, becoming one of the world’s first democratic republics. America is a country that has been built on the foundation of democracy, freedom and equality for two and a half centuries. Millions of immigrants fled tyrants, persecution and undemocratic conditions to the United States. So how dare Trump post such a picture?

X is now known to be the own channel of the far right and in particular the propaganda channel of Elon Musk’s fickle mind. As a channel, this is a good fit for X. The image of Trump as a king is reminiscent of Time magazine’s ”Person of the Year” issue, where the face of the ”most significant and greatest person” of the year is on the cover of Time magazine. Well, Hitler was also Time magazine’s Person of the Year at one time. Trump is a narcissistic person who has poker face to claim anything about himself: he has, for example, said that he is God’s chosen one, that he will end the war in Ukraine and bring world peace in one day, etc. Trump’s millions of supporters, especially in Q-Anon circles, consider him a messiah figure who will save America and the world. The Q-Anon cult believes that the world is ruled by ”Satanist pedophiles who gather in pizzerias” who, for example, ”control the climate with HAARP, creating hurricanes in the area of Trump supporters in the Midwest and Florida” (actually, HAARP is a device used to study the northern lights). I would say thick psychosis. No reasonable person would believe such things, but we live in an age of disinformation, and currently the content on the Internet is even more disinformation than real information. Trump has never said that Q-Anon is a lie, and he has supported many conspiracy theories and conspiracy theorists. He even has people in his cabinet like Robert F. Kennedy Jr who question vaccines, medicine, and doctors. One can seriously wonder whether the President of America is psychotic and whether a person like Trump is fit for his role as the head of the world’s largest superpower, who also has the launch codes for nuclear weapons?

The image of Trump as a king is certainly not just humor, but also includes the idea of him as an authoritarian leader. In Michael Moore’s documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 from 2018, there is a film clip of Trump telling his supporters that he would be happy to stay in power for more than 2 presidential terms and for as long as he wants, if his supporters want him to. “Fahrenheit” is a reference to Ray Bradbury’s famous book “Fahrenheit 451”, which is about a dystopian dictatorship that uses disinformation and has banned books and free thought. Trump has been in power for 30 days now and in that time he has already messed up the world’s books and caused a lot of destruction. Trump is, among other things, negotiating peace in Ukraine without Ukraine and insulting Ukrainian President Zelensky by calling him a dictator. Trump believes all the Russian propaganda that Putin tells him. Trump tried to buy (extort) Ukraine’s $500 billion worth of mineral resources by promising peace. Even Germany’s peace terms after World War II were a better deal.

Trump also has a worrying way of pulling numbers out of a hat. So he comes up with, without any basis, that, for example, Zelensky’s approval rating is 3% and the war in Ukraine has killed millions. Trump is also keen on ethnic cleansing in Gaza by moving the entire population of Gaza out of his territory. Trump’s antics will lead to very serious and catastrophic consequences. Better than a king, he would be described by the Joker card. Trump is a clown and an emperor in new clothes, whose entire rise to power is based on disinformation, antics and lies. Trump is most reminiscent of a clown brought to power on the ”day of the false king” of Babylon. Normally, a psychotic or suspected person who, for example, thinks he is a ”king” is in psychiatric treatment or under observation in a hospital.
